Please note that Res Nova is now SOLD.
Practicalities
Res Nova is currently on the hard at Port Medway Marina
She could be used as a full-time liveaboard, a holiday home or cheap student accommodation and then sold on or kept.
There are no qualifications needed to sail her, but those with no boat handling skills could easily do the RYA Powerboat 1 course or a day's own boat tuition to get the hang of her. Her engine is more than powerful enough and at around 18 tons she is relatively light, which makes it easier to find a yard with a heavy enough crane for when she needs lifting out.
You can explore the Thames as far as Lechlade or journey up the River Medway to Maidenhead and beyond.
Res Nova has been designed with self-sufficiency in mind and everything can be used without the necessity of plugging into mains electricity and water except the washing machine. Two solar panels on the wheelhouse roof help to top up the batteries and with the 500L water tank you can tie up under the trees in peace and quiet without the need of visiting expensive marinas.
